Notice something.
Look closely at everyday life. The things that make you ask “why?” are a good place to start.
A little curiosity can become something extraordinary. We help the next generation dream up projects—and find their way to building them.

A little moreYour phone can lend a hand.
Your attention still leads the way.
A problem you notice. A question that won’t leave you alone. An idea that feels a little too ambitious.
GenWhy started with a parent asking a question: how can we make technology a positive, creative experience for the next generation of thinkers?
The idea is simple: create an inclusive environment where young people feel welcome to learn, experiment and build—whatever their starting point. A place to ask questions, make mistakes and discover what they can do.
So we started with our own. With Krishav, a question from his school hallway, and the time and encouragement to see where it could go. NoBonk is our first project. It’s a beginning, not the whole story.
A school-hallway observation.
An idea by Krishav.
Krishav noticed people at school bumping into each other—or into walls—while looking at their phones.
He wanted to try doing something about it. That question became NoBonk: an experimental app that uses on-device vision to offer a heads-up about possible obstacles.
Designed to keep scanning in the background while another app is open. Open NoBonk to test the view and adjust your settings.
A development preview keeps a compact camera above a website in Browse & scan. Public availability is still to come; it does not scan while other native apps are open.
NoBonk can miss hazards and give false alerts. It is not a safety device or a replacement for staying aware. Testing is for ages 13+.
You don’t need the whole answer.
You need a question worth exploring.
Look closely at everyday life. The things that make you ask “why?” are a good place to start.
Sketch it. Build it. Ask for help. Use the tools you have, including AI, and understand what you’re making.
Let real people test it. Listen when things don’t work. Keep the curiosity; improve the project.
